Our guests tell us that they feel very much
at home at Anna’s House. Gradually
enlarged over the last 150 years from an
original two-roomed cottage, we now have
four en suite bedrooms for our guests. You
will find us at the end of a long private
lane set within our own 20 acres, so you
can be assured of privacy, peace and tranquility.
“An
extension on their old farmhouse soars
like a cathedral on a chapel, a new 30-foot-high
living space with a musician's gallery
and acoustics for oratorios: steel struts,
polished granite floor, and a wall of glass
to tip you into the serenity of unlandscaped
natural beauty and the lake.”
Alastair Sawday's Special Places.
Our Superior Double Rooms each have a private
sitting room and balcony. Our Twin Room on
the ground floor has wheelchair access, a
wet room with bath and a private terrace.
All bedrooms have hospitality trays, mini
fridges, armchairs, books, television, hairdryers,
wifi internet and only the finest pure Irish
linen sheets.
You are welcome to relax in our Music Room
which has astonishing windows 45 ft long and
15 ft high, giving a panoramic view of our
private lake and the County Down countryside
as far as the Mountains of Mourne. We have
a concert quality Grand Piano, Yamaha C3,
and any pianist coming to stay is welcome
to play. The acoustics of the music room are
exceptional, so if you play any instrument
bring it with you: you will be delighted with
the beauty of sound you are able to produce.
You may also like to share our cozy sitting
room with large open fire set in a hand carved
fireplace.
We have two elderly very friendly Jack Russell
dogs who love people but not the four legged
kind. Babes in arms are very welcome but
this is quite a hazardous place for active
children.
The field in front of our house
supplies the central heating for our new
extension. This is a geo-thermal system.
Solar panels supply our hot water. Ken is
always happy to answer questions about this. |
